Having deliberated on a motion by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina /BiH/ seeking pre-trial custody of suspect Hamza Čardaklija, the Court of BiH issued a Decision on 7 June 2022, granting the motion by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and ordering suspect Hamza Čardaklija into pre-trial custody for a period not exceeding one month, running from the date of arrest (i.e. until 5 July 2022). Pre-trial custody was ordered due to existence of general and particular grounds for pre-trial custody under Article 132(1)(c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH, namely a risk that the suspect would repeat or complete the criminal offense or commit a threatened criminal offense.

Hamza Čardaklija is suspected of committing the criminal offense of Terrorism under Article 201 paragraph 5(i) and (a) as read with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
